Ronaldo was the only Al-Nassr player to score in the shootout.
The former Real Madrid forward, who fluffed a sitter from three yards in normal time, had a frustrating night in Riyadh. After losing 1-0 in the first leg in the United Arab Emirates, Ronaldo was instrumental in taking the quarter-final to penalties when he converted from the spot in the 118th minute. His penalty made it 4-3 the hosts, who had Ayman Yahya sent off in the 98th minute, in the second leg. But three out of four misses in the shootout by Al-Nassr helped Al-Ain move into the last four of Asia's top club competition.The Brazilian international defender Alex Telles, who has also played for Manchester United in the past, was among the Al-Nassr players to miss during the shootout.In Tuesday's quarter-finals, Ulsan will lock horns with Jeonbuk in an all-Korean tie locked at 1-1.The Saudi sides Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal will also step out on the field, with Al Hilal having a 2-0 advantage from the first leg.Harry Kewell's Yokohama F-Marinos host Chinese side Shandong Taishan on Wednesday with a 2-1 lead from the first leg.
